Paiute location
The Paiute tribe was created on April 3, 1980 by the act of congress. Paiutes are all located in the bottom southwest corner of Utah in a dry, desert region. The paiute tribe is made out of 5 bands, Cedar, Indian Peaks, Kanosh, Koosharem, and Shivwits. The Cedar band is currentyly located in Cedar City, Utah. The Indian Peaks band is in Beaver County, Utah, the Koosharem band is in Richfield, Utah, the Kanosh band is in Kanosh, Utah, and then the Shivwits band is in Washington County, Utah. The Paiute Tribe also has 3 regions named the Northern Paiutes , Owens Valley Paiutes, and the Southern Paiutes Indians. the reason why they were named different names was because they are located in different places in the United States. The Northern Paiutes are found in California, Idaho, Nevada, and Oregon. The Owens Valley Paiutes are found in parts of California and Nevada. The Southern Paiutes are found in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and south-eastern California.
